Here at Mats & Flags we aim to be your one-stop-shop for welcome mats, dock mats and yacht flags. No job is too big or too small for us, we pride ourselves on providing a professional, personal, timely and competitive service!

You can use our website to order any of our stock items including the ability to add a custom logo or design when ordering a Welcome/Dock mat. Alternatively, we can work directly with you to help create a truly bespoke mat or flag! To get the ball rolling just email us at info@matsandflags.com.

Melanie Winters

I’ve lived and worked in Mallorca for nearly 18 years, building my career across marketing, publishing, and the superyacht industry. It was through countless conversations with captains and crew at shows like PIBS, Barcelona, and Monaco that a simple but persistent need became clear: quality mats and flags, the everyday essentials every boat requires but are surprisingly hard to source. That lightbulb moment, shared over a cappuccino with my lifelong friend and now business partner, Helen Stachini, led to the creation of Mats & Flags—a company dedicated to delivering bespoke, high-quality products quickly, efficiently, and with the level of service our industry demands.

My background in the luxury sector—from Mercedes-Benz in the UK to Neptune’s bespoke superyacht mattresses—has given me a deep understanding of customer expectations, and how to exceed them with service and quality at the core. Alongside running Mats & Flags, I also write for The Islander magazine, interviewing crew and captains across the globe, which has allowed me to grow an incredible network of friends, clients, and now proud owners of our products. At Mats & Flags, we combine craftsmanship with a personal touch, ensuring every order is as unique as the yacht it sails with.

Helen Stachini

Originally from the UK, I began my career in hospitality before joining the QE2 cruise ship at 19, travelling the world as a silver service waitress. That experience sparked a lifelong connection to the sea, which led me into the yachting industry in 2002. After a decade working aboard chartered motor yachts, I settled in Mallorca to build a land-based career that kept me close to the industry I love. From yacht agency work and recruitment to managing refits and repairs at STP Shipyard, I gained a wealth of experience while building strong relationships with nautical companies across the island. This hands-on journey eventually inspired me to launch my own venture, HS Yacht Services, providing clients with a reliable, personal shore-side connection.

Alongside this, teaming up with my longtime friend Melanie Winters felt like a natural step. With her background in marketing and my foundation in service, Spanish, and industry contacts, we created Mats & Flags—a business dedicated to delivering bespoke, high-quality products that every yacht needs, with a personal touch and excellent service at its heart. For us, it’s more than just mats and flags; it’s about making life easier for captains and crew, while sharing a passion for the superyacht world that has shaped our lives.
